So I have history with this buck, I've had pics of him last several years during summer but he would always vanish mid sept.
So this year I got permission on a neighboring property and set up some trail cams, I went to hunt on a tues evening and checked the cams on the way in, and there he was that morning! I ended up seeing him and 3 other buck sparring around that evening at about 80 yards! I was pumped as it was the first time I had actually laid eyes on him. The next evening I went and hung right near where they had come out and sure enough him and one other buck showed up ! I had to watch him for about 10 min at 35 yards till he gave me a shot, I was in my mantis and had to make a weakside shot over my right shoulder. I ended up pulling my shot and totally gut shot him right behind the liver. I knew where I hit him and decided to come back the next morning with some buddies. We ended up finding him about 15 -20 minutes in, he had went about 230 yards through fairly open woods to the edge of some thick brush! Still cant believe I went form not knowing his true core area to getting a chance at him all in 2-3 days !

Good job! This is my 20th year hunting and hope to get a chance to get one like that some day. Since being mobile and only hunting the same spot only once or twice I see way more deer.
