I heard we're having pig roasts every night! But if the only ones shot (or caught) are piglets, we might want a backup plan.

Got a question could I stay at fort Stewart camp grounds and I still bring my weapons to hunt wma near by or do they have to be registered to be in the camp grounds. Just dont want to be stuck stalking with a bow.

Hey, everyone! New here and just working on getting everything ready for this weekend!

As a heads up, if you try to use Chrome to complete the Fort Stewart survey, it might not show if you passed it or how many you missed. I had to use IE in order to get the survey to complete correctly.

you will be able to keep it there, but to hunt with them you'll have to drive off base. I think Greg said it was about 45 minutes away.

Yeah I know it's far and dont really want to drive that far but not sure I can get it done with just bow.

Stalking pigs with a bow isn’t that much harder than with a 22 mag. Technically you have to have a Ft Stewart hunting license to stay there. Not sure about the guns needing to be registered to be in campground but I have never seen them check anyone’s vehicle.

I’m not going to be there until Saturday but if someone wants to ride through Fitzgerald I have a few registered.

I can send a few guns with the Michigan crew, just have to round up the paperwork for them.

I will say, as a Civliian, trying to register firearms with the US Military has not been a very confidence inspiring process lol.

haha, even the military is a government agency and all that it entails :)

Greg. Did you get my email? Not going to be able to make it. Not because of all this fort whatever rigmarole. But because of some medical stuff that just popped up. Dumb chest pains.

Hall hang one for me.

@BCHunter is uninvited. Stupid Chair Force.

Concerning guns - let me tell you the rules. According to the rules in order to drive through any part of the installation (250,000 acres) with a weapon it is technically supposed to be registered. HOWEVER, the ONLY time your weapons registration might be checked is if you encounter a game warden (there's only 1 for the entire post) or an MP during a hunt. I've been stopped and checked a bunch and they never ask about weapons registration. They want to see your hunting license and check on your iSportsman login. That's it. If you bring a weapon that isn't registered and leave it at camp, or in your vehicle, you will most likely be ok. However, just to be clear that is technically against the rules.

My guess is there will be PLENTY of extra guns to go around. I'll have 4 to lend out myself. I know others are bringing extra registered weapons as well.

Concerning food - I was able to get the BBQ hooked up even though it was last minute. We're going to eat like kings. :) You only need to worry about breakfast and lunch.

@T.Clarke - feel free to send guns if you don't mind. I'm sure we can use them.

Dont worry about the phone lines. Camp area is registered. You all are now sponsored. Dont call to reserve a campsite. Greg's name still holds some mystic power with the ladies at MWR... Greg will fill everyone in on the pricing for the campsites 12 thru 20, which gives us the whole field.

Do the sites have water and power?

Gear Swap - I'll have at least 3 new Muddy Pros available and a set of 4 like new Cranfords with strap.
