Saddles changes in near future

I would like to see the back brace improved for next year, I feel like something could be done to get up behind the shoulder blades better. a tweak to the strap, maybe a rigid board that crosses the strap and extends up between or up to both shoulder blades and then below the strap to offset the pressure. it could still be moved down from the prussic's to take a shot and still be portable enough. Just a thought from when I was saddle hunting.

Yes, and integrated magic fingers massager...

Have you tried the Recliner from Tethrd? Seriously can’t think of anything better than that for a back band. Rolls up super small, really adjustable and easy hookup to the bridge.

If you get into any sort of structured backrest, just get a hybrid or web.

I think we need ring of steps with 2" slot for a 2" OCB. Anyone who's cammed over a transom saver strap will understand.

2-3" wide steps might be useful, but I'd need actual time on them to prove the utility.

Mystery Ranch coming out with a "whitetail" pack to go on their popup frame would be nice - made out of fleece or some other quiet brushed fabric.

I see no significant improvement that can be made to the minimal saddles.

Assuming the gen2 predator resolves the issues with camming over, I see no real improvement as far as "little" platforms go. Offering an Assassin size may be helpful especially for folks who change clothes in the tree, or like to stand for long periods of time.

I think tether deployment/adjustment might have some room for improvement, and a way to build in easy redundancy.

Life is good in this world. I hope the DIY and saddle customization forays stay alive.

I would like to see the camo side of the Kestrel be on the outside instead of snuggled up against, and subsequently covered by, my arse.

I don't know if everybody will agree with me, but I'm hunting on my solution to that little issue right now. Never been happier with that aspect of my rig. Better than ameristeps, wild edge steps, cranfords, or even the predator!

Check out the "calling all ameristep users" thread if you haven't seen it already.

I would like to see some saddle specific clothing. Especially a warm and quiet coat with slots for bridge-loop access that is burr resistant and water resistant (or water proof)
Also some pockets on coats and pants that are located for better access while tethered. The bridge pretty much eliminates the side pockets on a coat.

Maybe a coat with a longer tail to guard against back draft because my under layers sometimes ride up a little in a saddle.

I dont get a lot of hip pinch, but I do feel pant seams, pocket rivets, and those waist adjusting buckles on some of my pants...I've cut those off. Relocated side seams would make a saddle more comfortable.
The over-pants I found work great, but they aren't water proof or even water resistant.
My entire rig is pretty much complete. If I were to spend more money, it would be for specialty clothes for a saddle.

I have the new Kite on which they supposedly moved them forward, but only a little. I have had zero issues with them. Though it's the only one I've ever used I love this saddle!

I haven't been home since my saddle arrived but from the reading posts regarding back support and ideal packs I came across a molle back pack and waist belt that has a frame. Was thinking that could be modified with straps to attach just like the other back support straps and give all support you'd need if its comfortable on long sits.

I don't think there is much of substance to change to the gear. Modern saddles are pretty awesome. Tweaks, maybe. A lighter JX3-style saddle would be nice. Something in the 5-6 lb range.

Biggest area for improvement I see would be if it were possible to prove that spurs are not significantly harmful to trees (any more than other methods) and getting public land use approval. I think almost all other climbing methods would cease or at least be greatly diminished.

Alternatively maybe an improved set of those eonpow climbers, make them under 5 lbs total, more quiet, and generally easier to use. Basically public land spurs.

Like stated earlier, I would like to see a company expand on the idea of the EONPOW's. Something same weight or lighter, adjustable, and easy to get in an out of. Wouldnt think there would be to much engineering involved, could base them off the design of the ones they make in EU by Ple-mont.

I’d like to see a back brace that could be used like a weight lifters belt on the ground to support your back if you have a difficult drag ahead of you.

100% agree with you. I'd buyba set of clothes that worked with a saddle better.

Or, a set of clothes with the saddle built in!
