Safety concerns

doubt you will get a recommendation from the manufacturer, but my personal opinion is as long as you inspect your mechanical devices for corrosion and/or stress (bending parts) I don't think there is a designated shelf life. Its metal. The spring load is the main thing I would be concerned with.
