I’m just starting to get into saddle hunting. Has anyone saw the YouTube video called “Sam’s Stealth Climb”. If so, any thoughts on it. Thanks.

Ah yes, that’s @sampotter. He’s on this forum. Super nice guy. I remember when he put the idea on here - very interesting but I admit I never tried it as I had something that worked for me at the time. Do a search for posts that he started and you should find some info on it.

Saddle Hunters! New Way to Climb!

If someone has seen this before, don't hesitate to say so. I've been hunting from a saddle since 2007. First it was the Tree Saddle and now the Guido's Web for comfort reasons. I am a mobile hunter and sit in a different tree than I've ever hunted out of before 90+% of the time. I've tried...

I actually filmed an updated video over the weekend, just having a hard time uploading it to YouTube. I’ll be sure to paste a link once I get it up.

Honestly, if you take your time and take small “bites” as you climb, you can stay cool and not sweat. I can’t say the same about using screw in steps, etc.
Also- no matter what, I’d recommend not putting your upper layers on until well after you settle into the tree .

I'm a sweaty individual by nature. That's the main reason I quit using my climber, that and the limited choice of trees). I would constantly get picked off on pole straight trees, whether it was skylines or just straight look ups from ground scent. I'm guessing you method has the same limitations relative to tree choice? Also, one are I hunt has a boatload of hickory (a lot of fun on good mast years, getting pummeled, lol). I'd be interested in seeing updates on climbing via that method around limbs and branches.
