What are you guys using for a reader in the field or are you just swapping out for new cards when you check your cameras?also what do you guys do about hanging cameras on public land?do you have a lock on them or try to set them high so they are out of sight?thanks for any input

Agreed - search amazon for a card reader with the correct end for your smart phone, copy to your phone and sync to g@@gle, and blam!

I picked up 3 card reader for cheap and gave one to the boy, one to work friend and one stays in the truck as my backup reader.

My original and preferred reader was $9 at WM but has a cord and can hook up to my phone without removing the protective case.

As to trail cam on public areas - a little time, camo tape, hot glue and bark go a long way to protecting your investment.
Also - don't use expensive cameras!!!

I have never set a camera anywhere without a lock and even then I'm still concerned. All mine are currently up out of reach and secured with Python locks.

I’ve been a card swapper for the last couple years. I run 5 cameras on my property. I always had to view that night on my laptop. On Monday I used a Moultrie reader (Walmart) cable plugged into my iPhone. Had to download an app to use it but I’m impressed. Allows me to view pics while in the saddle instead of waiting till I get home from the hunt. For $24 and being so small and light weight it will be a big help

That's what I was hoping to do was be able to check them while in my saddle so that I could judge how to setup or even move to another location.

I have yet to find one that works with Samsung galaxy 8 - anyone?????

You may have to download a file managing app to view. This is the one I use on my S7 edge and in my kids tablets to view my cards. Have had good luck with it... Might be worth trying as you could always uninstall it if it doesn't work.

I just use the stealth cam card reader from trailcampro.com

I will try it but I have yet to get a reader that will read a trail camera card form the S-8. Trail Camera pro had also commented this was a problem.

I frequently have issues getting my android phone (Moto G5) to read a trail camera card with an external reader. Like was mentioned above I had to download a file manager app but, even then it usually doesn't "pick up" the card on the first attempt. I usually have to close and open the app two or three times to get the phone to 'see' the SD card. I have tried several different file manager apps and they all did it. That might be something you want to try.

I have file manager app downloaded. it used to work great on my Motorola droid and previous Samsungs, but the Samsung galaxy S-8 no luck so far.

I use the stealth cam micro reader. Just have to make sure your phone has the OTG function. No app needed and easy to use. Sometimes it takes a while to open a picture but once its open you can scroll through your pics.
