Attention Wisc. Hunters:
I'm new to the Wisconsin area and was wondering if anyone has suggestions about public land access around Milwaukee. Im trying to locate a few spots closer to home, so that I can do an evening/morning hunt a couple times during the work week. The private land I hunt is an hour away and doesn't really afford me the opportunity to get more stand time. I found a few spots scouting around the Muskego lake area which have some promise. Has anyone had/heard of people having success in any of the public access areas in this area? I did notice its 60-70% marsh/prairie with small woodland areas. I've also heard that the Kettle Moraine Forest is a good area, but very popular for hunters. Thoughts? Any suggestions welcome!
On another note, has anyone participated in the late season hunts in Waukesha county? Some of the parks they have listed seem like they would afford a decent opportunity to harvest a deer.
