Seizing a Rope - Seizing an Eye in a Rope

I have done this method before but not for the purposes of saddle hunting. I am Navy Vet with better than adequate rope skills. I usually start this by stitch the rope together then seize it with a repeating spiral hitch. It's worked well for rigging hooks. No I will not be using Paracord but with marine whipping twine for the cover and masons line for the stitches. What are your thoughts? Will this be secure enough?
