Selling stands

Just started saddle hunting and I’m hooked. After a successful first hunt in my Cruzr I made the decision to unload my climber and multiple ladder stands since it’s the time of year they command top dollar. Hunting buddies all think I’m nuts but to me it’s kinda like Cortez burning his ships so his men would have no choice but to fight on. Immediate upside is it brought in enough cash to justify purchase of a set of premium sticks like Shikars or Tethrd Ones. Anyone else make the switch and not look back?

I still have a few lock-on stands because there are a few circumstances where I prefer a stand over a saddle, but I can’t imagine using my climber again—might as well sell that heavy old beast...

I used a climber until this year, wanted a set up for irregular trees. Bought a hang on stand at the beginning of the summer, it only took one time trying to hang that thing while standing on a stick up in the air to know it wasn’t for me.

Yeah, my old lock-ons are for private land presets only. Definitely not lugging one of those beasts out for a hang-and-hunt on public ever again...

I only hunt pubic so I’d haul my gear out every night. We can leave stands up on Missouri conservation areas but I’ve heard enough stories of stolen gear not to risk it.
