Just sold my saddle to an online stranger. Thinking I should have sold it without my DIY Utilibridge attached. Should I worry about liability? After all, I have no idea the character of the individual or his experience in using the gear safely for that matter. Thoughts?

Just message him and let him know that it’s a DIY bridge. Not tested to industry standards and use at your own risk.

If I sell you an airplane I built by hand, you know o built it by hand, and you go crash it. Am I liable? I’m not a company that’s selling a product that’s tested to a certain safety standard. Use at your own risk

Just because you might not be liable doesn't mean that you won't have to spend thousands of dollars on a lawyer to prove you aren't liable.
I don't sell diy gear that is used in potentially dangerous situations.
I would contact the guy and covey the risks to him.
If he isn't agreeable then I would try to buy it back.
If he does understand the risks and accepts them, then keep the communications on file. Don't assume he won't bite you in the butt someday.

Today, the problem seems to be his health insurance company will sue to try to recover the money they spent on him. He may not blame you but they will.

Good advice - Thanks all! I've been in contact with him since this post and let him know my concerns. I've offered to buy back the saddle or buy an H2 triad to replace my bridge if he has any hesitations about the bridge. Saddle arrives to him Monday and he says he's aware of the risk and will rebuild the bridge himself if he's not comfortable with it - part of the deal in buying used gear... Seems like a good honest dude. That's all I can do for now I guess.

For reference: The bridge is a 1/4" amsteel brummel locked eye (girth hitched on saddle loop) with a full bury and end stopper knot. I attached the opposite loop using an H2 continuous loop... using swabbish/prussic knots.

I think you should have no problems. The chances of an accident are very small, IMHO.
