New here and not sure if this is the right place to post this, so please direct me to the right spot if not. My sister has a Janome DC2011 she said I could use. I'm wondering if this machine would be strong enough for sewing saddle? Does it just come down to the thread and tuning the machine properly? I have looked online, but am struggling to find some good information about this machine. Seems there are some knowledgable resources in the members of this group, so I wanted to pick everyone's brain. Any help or tips is appreciated. You are all awesome creators. I enjoy looking through the threads at everyone's projects. Thanks all!

I looked for info for a few minutes and didn't find whether this machine has plastic or metal innards. So just test it.

1. Sew a thin piece of webbing to cordura or other fabric.
2. If that works, double one over and retry. 3. Still working? Double both over.
4. Can it then do three layers?
5. Keep making the material thicker until it gets difficult. Quit as soon as it's a challenge, don't try to power through.

Now review your saddle plans to see if the machine can handle the thickness you need.

That's what I was thinking I would have to do. Just test it. Thanks for taking the time to respond!

Test it as mentioned, but also make sure it’ll do that material with a large needle and thread.
18 needle and #69 thread at least, that’s what I use. If it’ll do heavier then more power to ya. I use bonded nylon, you can do Kevlar for more strength for the size
