Shooting Scrapes?

Again, these are not mock scrapes, they only exist to stop and deer exactly where you want them to stop for a shot. Also, with an overhanging branch, the bucks head will be up if he's tending the branch making it harder to remain undetected while making a shot. Don't misunderstand my point. I'm not saying that what you're dong isn't a good way of doing it. What I was trying to share was that there are non-vocal ways to get deer to stop where you need them and the Dougherty guys' technique was a licking branch and they had creative ways to place the lick where they needed them to be.
I do somewhat disagree when you say these are not mock scrapes. They are to a degree.
