Hi folks,
I'm new to saddle hunting and currently trying to get my gear set up. I bought most everything that I think I need based on the hundreds of threads I have read through and videos I have watched.. i plan to attach a loop of tubular webbing around my climbing harness and create loops on both sides for my lineman belt to attach to. My question is, what is the best way to make the loops in the tubular webbing? I saw on a video that a guy used a couple pieces of rope inside the webbing to make the loops more rigid, which I like and planned to do.. but should I just tie the loops in or is there a better, cleaner way to do it? Sewing them? I guess I am just asking for opinions and ideas as to what would work the best and be as safe as possible.
Thanks for all the useful info that I have been able to dig up without having to ask for it! Very knowledgeable and helpful group of guys around here.

Welcome to the addiction and to the site. The solutions your looking at all work from what I can gather from your explanation. It comes down to personal preference on set up. Have you already bought your climbing harness? If you get minimalist arborists harness instead of a rock harness it will already have the linesman hook in points incorporated and will most likely already have mole loops for attaching gear while climbing since arborists need equipment with them. This is the one I use and recommend.

It’s not as light as a rock harness but you don’t have to modify it with linesman attachment points or loops. Hope your set up comes together! Be careful and practice.

I actually purchased this from another member here with the webbing already passing through the rock climbing harness and stitched. This is just a visual on my setup.

I forgot to add that my Loops are not reinforced with anything.

Unfortunately, I already bought a rock climbing harness.. If i had done enough research ahead of time I think that what you just showed me would have been a better option. I guess i will make my harness work the best i can and see where it takes me. Thanks for your help!

That is basically what I'm going for. I see that your tubular webbing is tied in loops on both sides, and im thinking I will probably do the same with mine. I like the idea of somehow sewing the loops instead of tying them but I'm not sure if it would hold up and be as safe as it should be. Thanks!

Sewing can be as safe, if you do a bit of research on how many stitches to do. Look into a Speedy Stitcher is you don't already have a sewing machine.

I did get a speedy stitcher, and last night I stitched the heck out of it... I dont know how many stitches, but it was a lot. I'll post up some pics of it later, but I definitely like how it looks and it seems to be as well put together as the factory sewn stuff.
