Anyone else working on saddle/archery mods for the Sitka Tool Belt pack?

First thing I’m thinking about is a way to carry 4 Wild Edge stepps

Hopefully, I'm not insulting your experience here but I just made these holsters. I will be adding them to the side of my pack and clip them on the side of my saddle as I climb.

I’m looking for direction, nothing is an insult and everything is on the table at this point so thanks for response!

Love the holsters but I suffer from noassatall and I’ve always been concerned it’d just create more saddle pull.

Figured out the the bivvy sack can double over the pack and fasten back to the front - creates a snug fit for my stepps so could be a nice solution but need to see how it will hold up walking thru the woods.

Mind posting a picture of what you’re talking about? I like the tool belt a lot but struggling to find a solution for my steps as well. Current plan is to sling the bag on short walks and throw them in my popup 18 for long walks. That way I also have something to pack meat out.

Im also considering strapping these over my pack, so when I get to the tree, I can sling them over my shoulder, and they kind of hang there next to my binos, and then when its empty just lowering back down over my back. Then when Im settled I will secure them in the pack.

Here’s a pic with 8 WEI Stepps inside a WEI bag within the bivvy sack - definitely fits with room for a jacket+:

Idea is that they’re stored for the walk in then you just pull your pack off and use the WEI bag as intended.

I like the idea of somehow using the holster inside of the bivvy but need to add some protection to keep it from ripping the bag. As pictured it works because I have the straps tightened down but I think if you were walking in the woods it’d probably loosen up and put too much tearing pressure on the mesh so still work to be done.

Another hurdle is that you’d still have to take your pack off to access the steps.

Goal is to figure out how to keep my pack on and get straight up the tree.

Attach the bivvy and grab the top of the shoulder straps. There’s a sewn loop for hanging where the 2 shoulder straps meet. Loop the primary securing cord (don’t know what it’s called but it’s right next to the Sitka logo on the pack in the pic) thru the sewn eye on top of the shoulder harness.

He’s to explain so let me know what’s unclear and I’ll try to describe it better..

Here’s what I have. Not sure if I’ll stick with it. I found the straps/bib sack that came with the tool belt was uncomfortable with my 5 WE Stepps. Inside the popup 18 I have my 5 stepps, perch, and kill kit. The popup would allow me to pack out a deer.

I was thinking of leaving the popup 18 on the ground when I climb, keeping the tool belt with me in the tree. I could throw it under some cover but scent may still be an issue. Anyone else leave a bag on the ground?
