Anyone ever try it to pack in sticks and platform. My dilemma is I need the pack space. I often carry all my layers and usually secure them to the outside of my Cabela's shoulder harnessed fanny pack. I know this is of much discussion lately but I haven't really seen anything that caught my interest.
I'd like to get my sticks and platform on my back much like I would when I would carry my lonewolf hangon and sticks. Then I'd bungee my pack to the stand and wedge my layers under the bungee.
I haven't spent much time playing around with different configurations yet. I have an eberlestock slingshot and game plan gear stand packer I want to play around with. I
I dont want to invest in the Sitka if It won't work.

Here is what I did, I put two pieces of 1" webbing to lash my pack and extra clothes on the back.

I have the tool box and tool bucket.

I have not had the need for the pack frame just yet on the bucket, but I know at some point it will come in handy. So far, the tool box has been just as handy. There's a 2.5lb weight difference too.

Having said that - I have the bucket in forest pattern - which is what I use most times here in south la because everything stays green so long. Also, I either use one stick or srt. I have strapped 3 sticks on the front of the toolbox before, and didn't feel great about that much weight on the outer edge of the pack. I could see you easily putting the sticks on the inside though, leaving it unzipped, and just closing the clip in the front.

If you're going to use the bucket, and pull it apart and put the sticks/platform in between, you'll be fine - that's it's intention. I've actually used the pack from the bucket, off the frame, with my guido's web. I do like the smaller profile of just the bag against the tree without all the straps hanging off.

They both have advantages. I'd lean toolbox simply for the weight factor, but if you're packing 4 or 5 sticks, that extra weight is probably unnoticed. I will say I love both packs. I rarely go ultralight unless i'm scouting - so they hold all my climbing equipment, platforms, camera equipment, and all accessories I might need. They're freaking expensive, but so far so good on quality.

Think Islandshooter modified his toolbox to allow sticks on rear of pack.
Had someone add extra lashing straps

Let’s revive this anyone???
Ok, I've got a tool bucket that had been modified to carry 4 sticks (2 each side) and my predator. Clothing inside. Mike Isbell (imike267 on here or Mike Isbell on the FB forums) did a great job. Let me know if you want more pics

Is this a service he offers??

Oh yeah! Saddles, aiders, rope mods, daisy chains, pack mods-you name it. The mods to the pack look like they're factory installed. Pretty quick turnaround, reasonably priced, nice guy!!
