I have been using the Tethrd Skeletor sticks for a while now, is there any mods or improvements i can do to them. I work in metal milling field so i have access to machines to make any kind of changes. Curious to what anything someone else has tried or done

I've used them for two seasons now. Outside of adding some stealth strips to them - they really don't NEED any other improvements. They are light, bite the tree well, and are solid/safe when I'm on them. Have ZERO complaints about them. For the money - I think they are the best stick out there.

The DIY retractable aider is a good idea. Just some bolts, nuts, amsteel and rubber hosing

I think the only issue i have with them from my own preference is they way they lock together with the plastic pins, would almost rather have something like a clip where they just clip together. I have ran Amsteel through 2 of the holes to make a loop so it hangs from my saddle when I'm climbing up

Solid stick. A few mods I did

-added sewn in aiders. Two step for bottom single for rest.
-stealth strip
-felt inside grooves where steps close. So they are quiet and no metal clanking
-reflective tape on the aiders so I can see coming down.

If you one stick.. a cut down one would travel nice with sticks folded up

Broke out the skeletors yesterday and forgot how much I love them.

Wish they were lighter haha

I just revamped my setup and actually went with the Grit sticks as opposed to the Skeletors for this very reason. The Grit sticks have a clip up top and orange things only on the bottom. Very quiet and super easy to work with. They're about .4# lighter to boot.

My Dad has a calibrated scale and my four sticks stacked together came to 7.82#

I wonder how well these would perform. They eliminate the plastic guide pins

Can confirm these are great! Also this is my 3rd season with the skeletors and you will get much more confident with the rubber attachment systems after a couple weeks of use. As long as the standoff is rounded on the bottom you shouldn’t need any machining mods. If you bought them new they should come that way!
