I've been smoking my clothes for a while, now, and been very successful. After all, smoke is aerosolized carbon, and much cheaper than a carbon suit.
I game some hardwood chips soaking in water now. My plan is hang the clothes in a tree..take my chimney smoker starter and get it hot then put the wet chips in and keep moving it from garmet to garmet

I don’t think there is any need for smoking them in a box.
I just hang them from a tree.
I use a cheap Bee Smoker
just hang mine by the 4 wheeler exhaust
Bee Smoker is A LOT more intense than campfire smoke.Yeah while it cant hurt, I just hang them downwind and near a camp fire while I enjoy a beverage or several by the fire. I have thought about getting a bee smoker for ease of having a lot of smoke fast but I only smoke them after the smoke smell gets weak or after washing.
Probably 15-20 minutes, I light a piece of paper and put it in the bottom of the bee smoker then add leaves/pine needles topped with shreds of hickory, oak etc. I put the bee smoker in the bottom and close the door while I go work on something else. The smoker eventually burns itself out.How long do you smoke them for? Nice looking setup!
