Mammut Smart Belay 2.0. I bought this package on a whim, never used it. It has an HMS carabiner and the Smarter 2.0 extra “brake”….I don’t know how it works exactly but this has it and I believe it can be removed since it’s sold as an optional add-on. The “Smarter” extra brake does come off so you can use just the ATC like normal.
 
It keeps the two sections of rope close together to help new belayers in rock climbing from locking up the device when the climber needs a lot of slack.
