Never have spliced ropes. Is there a company anyone knows of that splices amsteel??
You'd be absolutely amazed at how much you can splice during a 45 minute show.Wow! That looks doable! Thanks for posting this , Larry.
Makes it a smoother transition between the two thicknesses. What is the actual purpose of tapering the core at the end prior to hiding in the outer sheath of the amsteel? Do you have to do that, or is it just common practice?
That makes sense. ThanksMakes it a smoother transition between the two thicknesses.
It makes for a smooth transition from the thickness of 2 ropes back to 1. Anything that needs to slide or move across the length of rope (under tension) where the buried end is will move a lot easier rather than hitting a sudden point where the rope is now 2x the diameter. What is the actual purpose of tapering the core at the end prior to hiding in the outer sheath of the amsteel? Do you have to do that, or is it just common practice?
