Splicing regular climbing rope?

Anyone have any experience with regular (not hollow) braided climbing rope splicing? Any help appreciated, thanks in advance!
 
I remember seeing in a video that DIY Sportsman had, that he spliced an eye in predator rope. He also said that it was quite complicated and he would pay someone to do it next time. End result is great, but I’ve watched a few videos on it, and doesn’t look like something I wanna fight with.
