Split tail preference for Predator

Howdy fellow saddle diaper people. I'm thinking about switching my DRT rig to include a split tail for the flexibility to pass limbs. Before I splurge on a new tight eye split tail, or am I just as well (or better) off to tie an eye on a piece of predator from another rope I already have?

Thanks,
Sean

I would tie an eye in the piece of rope you have to see if the split tail works for you. If it works and you decide the knot is too bulky, you can still purchase a sewn/spliced eye.

I cut a piece off of my predator climbing line to make one. Tied a carabiner on one end with a fisherman's knot and used a blake's hitch on the other. It works fine but I don't use it as much as I thought I would so I don't think I'd buy one with a pre-made eye. If I was going to do it again I'd make it a little longer so I could use it as a backup tether.
