Just thought I would share info might be useful too some. If your a platform climber/tether climber for example lone wolf climber top or summit open shot. Any climber platform for that matter. For safety reasons and a faster less physical climb Its very beneficial to set preset paracords just like you would for srt climbing. If your able to do this once you get to the tree and tie in your canopy hitch with climbing line. The benefits really shine. #1 No slack ever introduced in your climbing line. Safety!!! #2 No hands fingers in a bad place trying to advance the tether up the tree. Safety!!! #3 Climb is so much faster and easier. This is all assuming you have a saddle you are sitting in for climbing and some type of climbing platform bottom. I myself either srt climb while sitting in my preachers seat and use a homemade ring of steps for platform or srt climb with modified loggy bayou climber bottom for my platform depending how far I have to hike in. I know everybody has there thoughts opinions on climbing but we all have different physical abilities and comfort needs. I myself just turned the big 50 still love to hunt but bad back and shoulders have slowed me down a little. Also, have lost most private spots so mostly hunting on our great public land.

My present setup I use New Tribe Tengu saddle with a Petzl Podium and it makes srt climbing more comfortable . I just fabricated an adjustable standoff to keep the Podium away from the tree( much like the JX3). It is nice to actually sit ascending as well as at hunting height with easy deployment.

Yes Paul that is definitely true, sitting in saddle and or bosuns chair/jx3 is more comfortable. I currently have a adjustable stand off to keep me away from the tree at hunting height also. Also, have have my gear bags strapped to the sides of my seat with zippers so everything gear/climbing related is right at arms reach while climbing and at hunting height. Works pretty sweet. So comfortable I can take a snooze if needed. I also utilize a back band for even more comfort. Good luck this season. Forgot too mention I also use my seat paired with a climbing harness tied in the entire time.

I use a backband also and this setup is very functional and comfortable.

Came a long way since I started with plywood nearly 40 years ago. Nice

Was this home made? what is that attached to the platform seat to keep your knees off the trwe? It looks like the end of a metal crutch with the rubber bumper

I tried using the Anytree 2 step strap as my resting place/ platform with my setup and it proved quite promising.

Yes, its just an aluminum crutch with the end cut of and metal spring clip removed. Drilled holes out bigger for a pin to adjust length if need be. The actual seat portion is aluminum partial piece of a climbing treestand. Crutch is bolted underneath.
