SRT with friction knot, questions

Morning all,

I was practicing 2TC and after a few tries, I wanted to try SRT. MnFarmHunter suggested I try a 2 prusik SRT system, like a simple texas kick system. It worked way better than I thought. I had two questions:
1. For my top or bottom friction knot, could I use a knot beside a prusik, like a distal or schwabisch knot?
2. If I wanted to run a backup on my top friction knot, what do you suggest?

BTW, my rope is Sterling C-IV Canyon rope and my friction knots are 6mm TRC.

Thanks

Any friction hitch will work so long as it grabs reliably, on the top, bottom, or for backup.

If you're gonna SRT with no mechanical devices, (and i have done a lot of it and tried everything), the best footloop is the Garda hitch footloop. And the best friction hitch is the Michoacán and the double Michoacán is criminally smooth. Vids attached.

Incidentally, if you master this, you'll understand why JRB Tree Climbing is the next step, cuz its basically the same, but on two strands, and ya eliminate the need for an anchor.
