I haven't used one as small that is good. I used this 2" one for a season or two but its bigger. It cams over really well but I did bend it after a while. I tried a couple of smaller buckles that I found and they just didn't work as well.

I have started using my wildedge steps for a platform. Talk about solid!! I do love the boat buckle an Ameristeps. You can really crank on that buckle a get it Tight.
 
A simple platform I copied from an old tree seat we used to use. It works decent but isn't perfect by any means.
