Also, a good cheap way for folks to get into knapping is to pick up the tank lids from toilets getting thrown out. It will fracture conchoidally. All you need is a couple nice round river rocks and a deer antler.

I know a couple knappers. Sitting around busting rocks doesn’t appeal to me at all. They sure do make some fine heads though. I have an arrow made by the Ferret with a flint head that he knapped.
