Hi all! I am brand new into both the site and saddle hunting in general. I have a Hawk saddle, and an leaning towards an EDP platform. I was wondering if you all had any other recommendations and what you would recommend for a set of sticks that are good for the money. I’ve been looking at getting some muddy pros but am not sure yet. Thanks!

If you are going to go with a EDP platform, I would stick with trophy line and get their double step sticks. Muddy pros are stable sticks but they are on the heavy side. My muddy pros were almost 13 pounds for the set and my one step trophy line short sticks are 8.
Good luck!

I have Lone Wolf and Hawk Helium long sticks both with one step aiders on each stick. On both I also did away with the straps and made ropes for tying them to the tree out of Amsteel. this requires reducing the Versa button stand off from the stick slightly. On the Hawks I just ground them down about an 1/8" due to I use 1/4" Amsteel. On the Lone Wolf I went to the hardware store bot shorter bolts, 1" fender washer and 3/8" plastic sleeve that will slide over the bolt to mod the button. I'm saying this due to there are multiple options and you don;'t have to just use their straps which I didn't like on either set. The Hawks can be found for less than $100 for a 3 pack on several web sites the amsteel I bought 30 ft cutting each to 10 ft which let me make a good bury on the loop end and I could shorten them to what I needed which ended up being around 7 ft total length. As to the one step aider the LW sticks have the wire aider from EOW and I made Amsteel one step aiders for the Hawks. Buy 50 ft of amsteel and you will have plenty to do all you need for a set of Hawk sticks. I mostly hunt with the Hawks due to the double steps. Oh yea, I did put double steps on the top position of the LW sticks, the steps came from EWO also. Just keep in mind there are simple mods to help keep the weight down and make a very good climbing system. I plan on adding the small Hawk platform to the top of one Hawk stick which I will attach with bolts instead of the supplied pins making it very stable. I hunt with the Hawks most of the time. Hopefully this helps you some.
My son in law has the Muddy sticks which he likes a lot. He only carries 3 and uses a 5 step aider which allows 3 aider steps to hang below each stick when he loops it over the top step on the stick.
Again there are lots of possibilities and you can make any stick work with your set up.

I agree and suggest getting things that pack together to avoid buying stuff multiple times.

Only sticks Ive purchased (outside of an EWO one stick), but OOAL’s 17” FXDs stack great and bite the tree really well. Pricier than most, but fantastically built and American made, too.

I just got the Novix mini sticks and like them. I think they were $175 for 4. I am waiting on an EWO double step with a 2 step aider for the bottom stick.

I still can't believe they get that much for those! They are essentially a chopped LW stick. I just cut down my LW's.

I did not have LWs to cut down and was not going to buy a more expensive stick to cut.
Sorry I wasn't meaning to say "Do what I did." I think I got my 4 pack of full length LW on sale for like $145 at Cabelas (In Store). That's why I cut mine down instead of buying the Novix. My buddy runs the Novix and loves them.

I’m still a big fan of the stacked outdoors sticks. They snap together so easy after a hunt so I can get out of the area quick. They also sound like rattling antlers if you hit them together

Are the steps on these aluminum?

What length titan strap is that? Thanks

Any comparison info on these to the lwcg doubles?

Cool, i know i've seen some that are aluminum stick with plastic steps.

Yeah these are fully powder coated aluminum. I weigh 210lbs and don’t feel much of a flex at all when I have these attached with my daisy chain Amsteel.

I believe Shikar FXDs are lighter than LWCG’s but not certain. There are definitely some stick comparison videos out there where guys have gone in great detail comparing 5-10 different popular sticks.

Those sticks look like they nest really good together. Are you using aiders on them at all?

I’ll be using a Versa Aider with these.

I’m a rookie saddlehunter, so I’ll be figuring out if I like these or one-sticking more. May end up keeping both setups.

I own 4 of the 17" Shikar sticks. I also own 5 of the Shikar mini sticks. I have the monarch on a mini stick.. I bought (5) 4 step aiders, (4) 3 step aiders, and (3) single step aiders. All aiders made from out on a limb to fit my sticks perfectly.
I feel I can cover any time of deer hunting I do with all this. Of course the mini's are my go to. The big sticks are for any crooked or slight bent tree I hunt in Kansas. All this cost a good bit of money, but I don't need anything else to complete my hunting stick set up.
