I run maybe ten cams a year and currently have a old samsung tablet I use to view/store pics on with notes. Its old/slow and occasionally the sd card erases pictures from previous years. Looking to upgrade but not sure what too? It woukd be super handy to have them all organized and have notes with them but wasn’t sure how some of you guys do it? Any insight would be appreciated on a tablet or laptop or any app that belps organize
Thanks

I’ve been struggling with this for a while now. OnX, I think, is advertising that they have it built into the latest version of their app.

You’d think there would be a simple app out there to quickly process, tag, save, delete and show pins on a map…

Figures I run the Huntstand app. I’ve been writing notes from hunts for years in a notebook. Which is a pain coming home writing, trying to remember etc. it would be handy to write notes while in the stand or while lurking about

There’s an online service called Deer Lab that I think does exactly what you’re describing wanting to do. Also think it organizes your photos based on weather patterns or something like that too. Sounded like a cool deal when I heard about it on podcasts a year or 2 ago.

It’s an absolute pain, I’ve been running 10-15 cameras for over 15 years, when I first started using trail cameras they took traditional film.. imagine that.. After season when things settle down I go through all my photos and start deleting everything other than target bucks, or future target bucks, young deer with good potential, I then dump all those photos into albums labeled by the year or specific area taken. I have a separate iPad, with tons of storage dedicated just for my trail cam/hunting photos with nothing else on it so it’s not bogged down with other apps or non related hunting stuff, ONX and trail cam/hunting photos and video clips, that’s it. I generally label active camera sights with ONX a different color versus past sites so I remember where they all are to keep it straight, it gets confusing at times... I don’t need any other notes than the info saved on the picture, I give each camera a nickname of the area that only I understand.

Thanks I will check it out!

I just think about some of the guys who are running 50-100+ cams a season. I would think younwoukd have to have some kind of system for organizing

It doesn't help with the pictures but in the past I have added a "Sightings" marker when I set up in the tree. I use the "other" marker type for my sits and it records date, time, temp, conditions, Wind direction and speed as well as bunch of other data and provides a space to add comments. That makes it easier to transfer the data into my hunting log later.
