Stroller suggestions

Did I miss the baby announcement thread?? Congrats!

Agree with lots of the opinions. Get a Graco that you can pop the car seat in and out of. You’ll appreciate that when the baby falls asleep in it. After they get too big for that part you can use it just as a stroller. Then get an umbrella stroller for as they get bigger that is more portable. You’ll have overlap where you use both.

I support the call for a reasonably priced Graco or Chico system, key word being system. You want one infant carrier, bases in every vehicle (my sister in law runs a daycare and has seen more improperly installed car seats and bases than she can count because people only buy one and shuffle it), and the stroller style of your choice that goes with it, if the wife will jog make it a jogger, if not whatever make the wife happy is money well spent. The ability to take the sleeping infant from the car to the stroller and not unstrap and restrap them is worth everything in your savings account.

As far as umbrella strollers go, I hate them. They are all too short for me and I would rather carry my kids on my shoulders or arms or even a baby carrier thingamajig. We had a baby carrier and it saw more use than the umbrella stroller, probably because everytime the umbrella stroller was mentioned I said "don't ask me to push that thing" so in short consider a carrier or just the old fashion tightwad version called "shoulders"

Good point. Definitely want a base in every vehicle.

Maybe we need a separate thread to prepare @kyler1945 for parenthood....

At one point I think we had 5 big strollers and a few umbrellas. Umbrellas suck if your tall. Hard to push. But pack nicely. We had a normal Graco that made it thru all 5 kids before the airline broke it. Then we had some double in lines. Single off road/jogger and a double off road jogger.
We live on a dirt road, but the off road jogger ones definitely got the most use on and off road. Rolls better. Spent some of its life hauling toys to the beach for the kids. It takes up a little more space, but IMO worth it. If I did it all over I wouldn't bother with a regular stroller. I would just get the off road. Just make sure your car seat and stroller are same brand or at least compatible. At one point I think I think baby trend? Was universal with some of the other models.

That looks taller than anything I've ever laid hands on, but it's also more than I would ever spend on that style stroller.

No announcement. Just sprinkling it in here and there so I get to continue getting small injections of joy.

Watch out for poop rockets. Be prepared to be covered in spitup. Keep your mouth closed when you hold them over your face when you're laying on the couch....
You did not make mention of the dreaded poo-nami... You know like a tsunami only with, well you know, all up the back. Those are always fun.

That and getting peed on during diaper changes.

Wait until you get into carrier types... geez. Ergo 360, Baby Bjorn, Lily Baby. This should be in the shame thread that I know all these names and have opinions on them. I definitely do recommend a Kelty backpack though for scouting missions, hiking, working around the house outside when they hit 1-2years old..
kids are expensive--Better keep selling your stuff..
Or better yet, have a baby shower and have everyone else buy it for you!
