Summer Buck Opinion

They grow at different times just like they shed at different times.

The one on the left is pretty much finished, the one on the right has a bit more to add to tine length. How much will be interesting to see. As long as the tips have that bulbous appearance, there is bone yet to be made, and they can make a lot, fast.

I would say both end up in the neighborhood of 110". They one on the right could be a tad bigger. I don't think that's the same as the other buck you posted, totally different beam curvature which I think is one of the more consistently identifiable traits once bucks reach adulthood. I think that other buck is a couple notches above the velvet bucks, hopefully he survived and you get some photos of him.

At least you're getting bucks. I only have a couple cameras out but so far I only have one potential shooter. I know they are out there because I put the footwork in other ways, but cameras can be a kick in the nads if you are overly reliant on them.

Update.

Saw the taller racked buck today. Was pulling cards and walked out into a power line cut, there he was feeding on some berries up the way. Poor picture unfortunately.

Found his bed too and it’s about 40yds from one of my parking and entrance spots in a big trash pile. Now to rethink my entry for this season

Crazy how deer love beds by the parking spots/areas. I killed a nice 7pt in the Upper Peninsula yrs back, maybe 50yrds from U.S. -2. Couldnt pass up the sign there.
