Reading through the Florida meet up @Fl Canopy Stalker has been drumming up. I can't help but think why no one has done a central saddle hunter meet up. Saddlepalloza looks fun. But pretty far from most of us northern guys for a few days.
Is there any interest in something in the summer? Middle of the country. TN, WV, or Eastern KY area. Some where in the middle. Ideally it would be awesome to find a big campground that would allow the climbing, and a chance to shoot our bows from the saddle. That might be asking a lot. But if your gonna dream, dream big. My thoughts are 4th of July weekend. Since most guys have an extra day or two off in there. But I'm thinking family friendly. Appalachian mountains offer plenty of outdoor things to do with your family. So you can sell it to your wife by saying we can go hiking, or rafting, or something else as well. Combo trip.
Any interest? Or should I just flush this one down as pipe dreams?

I like the idea but on the 4th of July every campground is booked up way in advance.
I was thinking of finding one with a big open field that everyone could either tent camp, or park an RV. Rent a large space out. Im sure most of the actual spots are reserved. But if they had a big open area it could serve it's purpose. I could be dreaming. But agree. All the regular spots are probably filled by now.
But would need an idea of how many people are interested before I made some phone calls or emails.

Man I think saddle palooza should become a traveling show. Instead of it being nailed down in one place, we should have a host and do it in a different state each year. Gets people outside their comfort zones. It allows people who can’t make it all the way down here to make a big event and allows us to all network meet new friends (potentially for travel hunts in the future). I love this idea. If y’all get something nailed down, keep me linked in and if I can help out or make it to the gathering, I will

Might wanna stay away from the major holidays just because it’ll be very hard to find campground locations. Maybe shoot for a week in early June or late July. Just my two cents though

Unless you can find someone with a farm or acess to a private sportsman club. I have 18 acres but no climable trees.
