Hey guys I happened to have a set of lightweight gel filled suspenders and fit them on my Kestrel. Sure makes it nice because I run the big New Tribe bag as well as the smaller plus some mechanicals on my bridge and lanyard. Keeps everything up and you hardly notice the additional weight.

Post a link of those suspenders. I always wear them. I dont like wearing my saddle in. I have never been comfortable and typically my spots are a long hike in.
And being over 50 anything can happen down there...especially when i sneeze...lol

I used a lanyard in this manner but I don't care for it. It rides so nice with the suspenders and it adds very little bulk or weight.

I always put my stuff on out of order. One of my favorite things about presets is nothing has to touch the ground but my boots. I seem to wind up with my linesman’s under my backpack and have to remove it at the tree. It’s not that big a deal but still annoying. I can see more positives than negatives with a set of suspenders on the kestrel. With the mantis I didn’t have a problem with it working it’s way down.

My hunting pants all have suspenders. Cant see myself running two pair.

Man, I hear ya on that one. An important part of a polished system is sequence. Everything has to be done in a logical order. Nothing should be done haphazardly. Developing and polishing a system is what summertime is for.

I hear you. I usually get out of the truck put on my outer layer. Then boots, saddle, and backpack in that order. If I do it right I wait until after putting the backpack on to put the linesman’s belt over my shoulders. It doesn’t always go right. I also had my son in the kestrel last year and as he was climbing up a tree it was sliding down. It was about half way between his but and knees when I noticed it. That was a combination of body type and user error and no fault of the kestrel. Still though I don’t see many negatives to adding suspenders.

I'm not "anti suspenders". I agree, I don't see any major negatives to add them, but I don't need to add them if I use the LB.
I will mention this...I added aftermarket suspenders to my old Trophy Line because the crappy suspenders that it came with completely sucked.
The after market suspenders held the saddle from sagging while walking but I never trusted that my bowstring would have a 1% chance of clipping the suspender during a worst case scenario. I always slipped the left suspender off my shoulder during a hang. The right side was never a risk.

That’s a point worth mentioning. I stil use a rifle a good bit and it’s usually 90 degrees here during our archery season. I don’t deal with adding layers and the bulk that comes with it. There are only a few hunts here a year where the scentlok suit isn’t enough and then it’s maybe a base layer and a hoodie in the pack just in case.
