Back me up with a gun and I'll try it at least once.Anyone ever shot a wild hog with a mechanical broadhead?
This is why I love my rage and will most likely be sticking with them. This is the entrance wound from a quartering away at about a 45.I will agree about the blades popping open during stalking, especially on the rage rear deploying broadheads, but the entrance holes from those things are worth the extra attention I have to pay to the blades before taking the shot. I have probably killed 100 animals with them and I have been hunting with them so long it is a habit for me to check to make sure they are locked in correctly like second nature now. But I did decide to use a fixed blade head for my elk hunt last year because I was stalking and walking the whole time. Strummed a big 6x5 in New Mexico
That hole is brutal! How is the flight on the three blade?View attachment 1725 I am a true fan of rage also! I could see daylight through this one.
Are you using the rubber band type or the collar? When they came out with the collar I started looking for those exclusively just because they seem to hold the blades better. It flies great, the only thing is you have to make sure the blades are locked in before you shoot. The blades tend to get unlocked if they hang on something. It has become second nature to me to check the blades when I get situated.
That is about the size of the one I shot out of my sit drag this year with a fixed blade and could not find him.I found another wild hog pic that I shot with rage 3 blades. 281#View attachment 1773
