What difference did the rch make? I quit using mine at the end of the season because I put a strap on the sitdrag that would not let me fall out of it.

RC harness just provides a climb rated backup for the SitDrag. I know some are comfortable without it. For me it was just a little piece of mind that I had something rated for climbing backing up something meant to be used on the ground. With my clone, I actually kind of miss the belay loop backing up my bridge connection. Probably simply because it is what I am used to.

I use a diy saddle with a heavy duty belt and buckle. I still use the rch for safety and lineman belt(diy loops on the rch). In the event of a fall, I personally dont want to be "caught" by a loop around my waist.

I used to do the same thing, I found that with the RCH it gave me that extra dose of safety confidence. I still use the main tether, but the saddle itself is not my main source of connection. I basically climb in the RCH then attach my saddle above the biner and ropeman that the RCH is attached to and lower myself into the saddle. (via another biner and ropeman attached to the tether)
