Lost Transformer saddle with orange Stan's sx3 and other gear. Lost Oct 1rst. Hunted that morning then came home. It did not make it home for sure.

Hunted Big River WMA in Kentucky. Stayed in Sturgis KY. Stopped in Madisonville KY subway. Murfreesboro TN racetrac. Could have slung out off truck on hwy 64 bw Ocoee TN and Cleveland.

If anyone has found a saddle since then, PLEASE contact me

It took a long time to acquire all that gear and cannot afford to replace it.

If we have any folks on this team from this guy’s area maybe y’all can be on the lookout and possible help him get his stuff back. Perhaps peruse some online “for sale” sites as well.

Well I had my first sit of the season today. 12 hours on stand. I planned to leave mid day, do some chores and go out for an evening sit. Alas 12 +\- long beards rolled in mid day. They circled around 50 yards out for a few hours, though I never got a shot. By the time they moved along I had to stay for dusk. On the way out I checked an adjacent cam and discovered that a family has been occupying the hillside.

I’ve got a better wind to hunt a spot that is close to me the next couple days so I think I’ll try to get in another evening sit or two in. Then I’ve got Friday off this week and next and then Thursday and Friday the first week of November. I’ll still have to take kids to school first and likely pick them up but midday sits on public have been ok for me before. Really would like them to get the darn corn out, few hundred acres of a problem at this point.

Today I made my second strike on my primary target buck. After the sit I checked the cam on the adjacent community scrape. He was in front of my stand at noon yesterday… sometimes it’s better not to know.

Also, this year he blew up into a monster - It’s gonna be hard not to overhunt this deer.

Going to go solo Friday midday while the kids are ant school and then I think I’m going to alter plans and take my son along this weekend. I’ll tether in at ground for my seat and give him a little stool and ghillie suit him up. My jacket will cover him head to toe. Will it diminish my chances to shoot a deer? Most likely. Worth it to get a kid outdoors with stories to tell his buddies? For sure.

I wish someone did that for me!

Sat this morning before work. Saw two tails, pretty sure it was the same deer. Coyotes bumped it for sure. A pair of yotes hung around me for 10 minutes and made for a fun morning. Entertaining critters! I’m headed to Northern MI on Tuesday for bow camp so will be hunting hard Wed-Sat over there.

I got a morning sit in today before rains got started. I got in a new to me tree, right on a fresh scrape line at the north of of a long swamp. After the rain and wind kicked up I did some branch trimming to get it rut ready.

This rain should stay stay until early Sunday am. Sunday action should be great, unfortunately the blue law will keep me waiting for Monday am.

I managed to squeak in an evening sit last night. The front moved out sooner than predicted and so I was able to get a short sit in under ideal conditions: on the heals of 2 solid days of rain, and a steady 15 - 20 mph North wind. My hope was to catch lawn boy refreshing a scrape as the rain let up. 30 minutes before last light I had a 4 pointer materialize right in front of me. He cruised by at 4 yards at a fast walk. Because his appearance was so sudden I couldn’t have shot him if I wanted to. After that you can be sure the bow stayed in my hand! I was pleased to have my first up close buck of the season. Game on.

My dad and brother used to make the drive from SC to MI for deer camp every year. I went once. Michigan wasn’t for me. They enjoyed the heck out of it though.

This is the last deer my dad ever killed. He was 85 at the time…..

Had a neighbor find a doe that was double lunged 100 yds from where I shot on 10-15. I have to believe it was mine. Still no idea where the arrow went. Can't believe there was no blood. I'm wondering if it was the fixed broadheads I switched to now and if I should consider going back to mechanicals.

How sharp were your broadheads?
What was the entry/exit of the arrow?
Was there an exit?
Are you color blind?
Did you look above the ground?

There’s a lot of things that can lead to a dead deer but a poor blood trail.

That deer got pummeled by a very sharp arrow. I knew the hit was good and heard the deer crash. No blood where she was standing or anywhere in the field she ran through to get to the thicket.

This is a zoomed in and edited screenshot from the first pic. I found the arrow about 20-25 yards from the shot. Then I knew where she had entered the thicket so I backtracked looking for blood and found none. Looked ahead and saw the blood circled in blue high on the saplings.

As soon as I saw that I knew this wasn’t going to be a good blood trail, but I had heard her crash and knew where she was, a dry drainage, so I wasn’t concerned.

I did find a few spots that looked like this or less

Walked ahead to the drain since it was getting dark and there she was.

Because of the setup I was only about 6.5’ at the platform. Shot was basically level. There wasn’t a piece of either lung left that had any size to it. She was indeed hammered, but if it had been somewhere flat or homogenous like planted pines finding her would’ve been an absolute bear. She only went 80-100 yards from the shot.

ETA: my arrow exited up to the fletching. I saw it flopping when I re-watched the video.
