Team 9 Thread

The daisy I use came from @Sam Switalski. You don't have to buy a special one though. You can use a daisy from a stick you already have. If you dont already have one, Sam is a good guy. A 7' or 8' will work.

Looks like @always89y already sold his kit so next best thing (if you want a setup like mine) is to go grab the following from @DanO: 35' of Canyon C-IV, a Safeguard, a delta link, and 10' of TRC. Next make up some tether assist tools. You can fashion them out of zip ties, or go to Genesis 3D Printing and grab some TATs from Austin. He's a good guy too.

Next for the thigh loop (yes, a critical piece of gear), @always89y is coming up with a DIY version that he'll be posting the "how to" on the Ultra Light 2.0 thread soon.

So something like this cart?

Yeppers! Only thing I personally can't recommend is the 7/64 daisy and that's because mine is 3/16. Go for it if you trust it though.
Good to know. I’ll look for that size. Also, the TAT’s are out of stock, but I signed up for the reminder when back in stock.

TAT’s are out of stock
The TATs sold by Austin are wonderful and I recommend them. They function perfectly and have the added benefit of being gear hangers; there's even a bow hanger option. However, if you need a stop-gap while your waiting for them, zip ties will get the job done (think I had a video about that awhile back).

No matter your climbing method, I'm a firm believer that anyone who moves their tether up with them as they go should be using some sort of handle to keep finger out from underneath their tether.

Yea, I totally agree on that. You could find yourself in a real bad spot if something happened to your bottom tether while fingers were under the top tether. I like all ten of my digits and don’t have any to spare.

So I’m going back to TN to hunt this afternoon at the feed tree I found Friday morning. It should still have plenty of acorns with as much as I heard dropping just that day. I found a nice buck bed 85yds away too. It was textbook hillside bedding. I think the spot will set up very nicely for an afternoon sit.

Didn't get out this week, weather was to warm. This week it will cool down so I will be hanging wed, sat, and sunday.

At it again with my brother from another mother, Matt, here in NC. We’ve been seeing a pile of deer but they are just out of range for the trad bows. Made some adjustments and we are back at it.

Why are all my pics upside down.....

More adjustments needed but I’m right on top of the acorns they been eating the last couple of days. Hopefully it happens tonight.

You went from upside down to sideways. Almost there. ;)
. I didn’t do anything different. I don’t know.
Anyways I messed up last night fellas. I missed 3 does with my recurve last night. Tough night shooting that’s for sure. Gave them all haircuts. Definitely living up to the name “Struggle Stick”. But I’m back at it this morning looking for redemption and still looking for my first traditional kill/recovery.

Keep at it

Never give up! You’ll get it done.

Folks, lemme tell y’all something. I messed up having a kid born in October. Hosting his 4th birthday party Saturday on what will be this year’s first legit cold front. Maybe just maybe the wife will let me slip out that afternoon.

At it again. This is my last hunt in NC. Heading home to KY in the morning. Seen tons of does and 1 good buck and 1 small buck. I’ve had my chances...3 to be exact. But man I’ve had more fun with the trad bow.
