Tennessee public land

Tenn. Hunters. I lived in Chatt. for 23 yrs. Moved back to Al but will be hunting LBL and Kentuck this year.

I hunt Cherokee national forest pretty hard. Can walk to it in about 5 minutes from my house.

I've only hunted there 1 season, last year. Every sit I had someone walk by me. Some of those sits I was over a mile off the road. I had over 20 mature bucks , 120 inchs up to 160s on trail cameras but never saw any of them during daylight. Trying to find maybe further off the grid areas there to get away from other Hunters. Bought a Rambo ebike to help get further back.

one guy from up there says to hunt as close to road as possible in the thickest cover you can find. He kills a big one every year. You think just like me. I saw a Booner this year less than 50 yds off highway. Someone elses land. I am going through a learning curve.

Close to the road is actually the only times iv even seen bucks there during season. So there may be something to that. Hunters going past them to get way off the road. My two largest bucks came from properties near highways. One of them crossed the road right before I shot him, the other was less than 100 yards from highway bedded with a doe. Both high hunting pressure spots
