If using the bridge that came on the saddle to rappel with would having a second bridge be better for rappelling and use the stock bridge that came on the saddle to just tether to the tree by. Maybe save wear and tear on ?

You can go either Route,I have a 2nd bridge on mine anyway as I use the JRB climbing method. I don't like the amsteel bridge that much and hate adjusting the prussic on it.
I don't find my 2nd bridge getting in the way of anything. I used John's video for building an adjustable bridge and it performs well.

I rappell down and 2TC to climb. I really can’t see how rappelling down causes anymore wear to your bridge. I don’t use my rappell line to climb but always transfer over to it before dark on afternoon hunt so I am not making the transfer in the dark. I always put some tension on it before removing my climbing tether so I know it is set correctly
