We've been working hard the past few weeks to come up with some big changes to our vendor policies to meet the changing needs of our community. Please see the new vendor rules here:

Do you guys ever use anything to assist you to get your tether up the tree? I've used to have the Genesis 3D printing assist tools and I saw the ones from innovating the outdoors, but I'm wondering if there is something else you guys use.
What's a tether assist? I use 2 rubber fender washers pinched against the oval link to keep it in place. Just don't forget them to slide back around before you rappel down.

I didn't wanna pay $9 each or whatever for handles so I have tried two small carabiners, then paracord loops. both worked OK. I now usually use wider releasable zip ties cause they be cheap, weigh nothing, are easy to pack and put on or take off, and have uses otherwise
I put my thumbs under to slide it up. that way if I fall my hands come out and don't get caught in tether. I see no use for those, and like carrying a small bag with the less in it the better
I’ve been using these wrapped in electrical tape. Small end around rope has opening(narrowest point) of about 10mm so electrical tape narrows that further to keep in place on oplux. I also bent the wire gate to spring the opposite direction which works better for a gear hanger when I get to height.
Make an amsteel loop and put the entire loop in shrink tubing and leave the ends sticking out. Make 2 and you have your handles. Amsteel slides very easily.
