Tether for aider

I'm sure the hook will work but the way the force is being put on it is not the way that was intended....it's like the safety book u got with ur biner showed in the drawing....the hook is being pulled in 3 directions vs it's intended 2 directions...the strap will be trying to pry apart and if u slipped and all ur weight came down on the right side of the aider the hook is going to want to rotate clockwise making the hook wanna come out of the eye of the strap potentially.....I'm sure it'll work but I think if it were me, I would brainstorm on a more secure connection than the hook. Threading and unthreading isn't the best but I think the delta link was designed for this type of application

Edit: psshhh... I didn't understand exactly what u were asking....u want to eliminate the hook right?

The hook and the strap is just brainstorming. The hook idea came from the backwoods mobile aider. But the whole rig as a whole is not a finalized product I plan on climbing with by any means. My goal was to use my movable aider on 2 sticks, yet find a way to get a few extra feet above the 15ft I get with the 2. A strap/rope is much lighter than a hawk stick and I was just looking for ideas.

Why not just attach the aider to the platform and use the platform as your “last stick”. I “no stick” climb with just an aider attached to my platform, keeps the aider away from the tree too so solves that problem. Ultimaider from EWO would be my go to for it’s adjustability.

One reason being im not sure what the weight rating is for a downward force on the ridge runner in one specific location the hook is attached. The force of me climbing would not be distributed across the platform.

I appreciate everyone's input. Sounds like I may be trying to hard to split hairs here by using only 2 sticks and getting 18ft. Either get a light weight set of sticks like the ONEs, whenever they figure their **** out, or look into one sticking.

U need to use a Linesman's belt because there is a pointy were u have to unload off ur tether stepping from the aider to platform...as soon as u get into the platform using Linesman's for safety bring ur tether up and get loaded onto that rope....
