Tether question

So I just got my first saddle yesterday so I took it out today to get the hang of it. Definitely like it so far. I’m curious though on securing the tether. Do you just pull the tag end through the loop once or do you wrap around a second time? I could have sworn I saw a YouTube video of someone wrapping it twice. I tried both ways and I felt that just putting it through once was an issue when I gave the tether slack it would slide down the tree slightly. Thoughts?

you can girth hitch the tag end thru the loop instead of just running it thru. I'm not doing the description any justice but someone will know precisely where there's a video of someone explaining this. I generally dont have a problem with my tether sliding down once you put your weight on it it usually bites pretty good.

Lol. I just googled it. Found it. That seems better. I’m not sure why I didn’t think of that. Thanks!

I haven’t had any issue just running it through once. Once you put weight on it the rope will tighten up and “set” on the tree and won’t move unless you loosen it by hand.
