Tether rope?

I am looking for suggestions for a new tree tether rope. I’m using the original brown / orange rope from Tethrd but want something stiffer and less “sticky” on tree bark.

I like the WE k.i.s.s. tether, 8mm oplux with tender on the prusik.

Needing a sewn/spliced eye or no…. If not Id recommend either oplux or canyon elite… you can buy either on EWO at whatever length you want… I run a canyon elite tether/rappel line and I also carry a canyon elite lineman’s though I only use it if branches are in my way as I climb tethered in

I wouldn't recommend Oplux if you want something stiffer than the Tethrd ropes. It's smaller and just as 'limp' as the Tethrd ropes.

Are you using a Ropeman or a friction hitch on your tether?

If you are happy with the size of your Tethrd rope and just want something that is stiffer and won't snag bark as bad I would get Predator rope from EWO: https://doublesteps.com/product/predator-tether-lineman-rope-8/

It's a similar size to the Tethrd rope so it will work with the Tethrd hitch cord and also be in spec with a ropeman if that is what you are using but, it is a higher quality rope.

If you drop down to 9mm then try out Sterling HTP or Canyon C-IV. Both are stiff ropes with a smooth outer sheath that won't snag on bark.

No they are not. That's been a common misconception since the beginning. Not sure where it started other than Tethrd making some comparisons to Predator when they first came out with them.
