Tethrd One Stick Modification

I already have two sticks with loose steps . Ones the bottom step and ones the top step. Anyone thought of adding or already added an additional roll pin or bolt to eliminate the step movement ? This seems to be the sticks major flaw, but I’ve yet to see any solution pictures on the forum. Also, I have been in contact with Tethrd about it and they have replaced the two faulty steps ( great customer service and fast response time to replace the sticks)but I have a feeling this may be a issue again later on down the road

Did they replace the steps or the entire stick? Also did they give any insight as to what the issue is or that it’s a quality escape that has been identified and corrected?

They replaced the entire stick without hesitation. The only info I got was that the glue had broke but the roll pin would hold a lot of weight

I shouldn't have to make ANY mods on a 100+ dollar stick for it to be safe. Ridiculous
I agree with that completely but I also understand things happen when trying to mass produce a product . Besides the glue issue everything else on the stick is nice and seems to be well designed . I can’t complain too much seeings how they did make it right by 100% replacing the products without question

Ya they replaced the stick but if they made no changes it's only a matter of time till it breaks again

I wonder if that business model is sustainable long term. Swap out sticks as glue fails. Re glue the returns and re sell. I guess it depends on failure rate which will be clearer once season starts.

I’ve been looking at maybe taking them down and replacing the glue with some sort of lock right . Not 100% sure of it yet

Understand that might void any warranty they may have.

I didn’t realize there was already a one stick mod.

Did this little mod to the one sticks. 1” Chair leg plugs, drill hole 1/2 way down to match the role pin on the stick and then snipped out the excess material.
I have done the spray foam and like it but wanted to stop debris, water, and bugs from getting into the stick.D785142B-CB78-419E-971E-358380BAD331.png

Anyone file down the reportedly annoying spike at the end of the step, or is there too little material, or is it unsafe as that's all there is to stand on in certain situations?

Had a guy ask if my One sticks fell apart yet. What a shame they have this reputation. While I don’t feel it’s deserved; I’d hope Tethrd is going to assure or exchange with us Gen 1 owners if Gen 2 is about improving safety.

I doubt replacing the entire run of sticks would be financially feasible for them, even if they desired to do so.
