tethrd predator level screw

I keep thinking I wanna try an amsteel daisy with a Whoopi sling or truckers hitch. No doubt it would be great, but I have a monkey bar(ROS) on each side. I use an OCB and it’s mega tight, also too tight to cam over if you cinch it too tight beforehand. Not sure how I’d have to thread my steps, but should work . Regardless, just about ANYTHING is better than a cam buckle almost

am i the only one that likes the cam buckle?? i tired the HFAS from hang free and didnt like it at all.
Did you use the one with a single prusik or two?
I don’t like the single hitch version either, but the two hitch(once I figured out the right way to use it) works great, quick on/off and super tight.
(Mine are from amsteel guy, not hangfree, but they look the same)

single hitch. i just didnt like fiddling with hitch and even though it was solid,it was never as tight as the cam

like that far as i can telll lol....same as he does in the instruction video. just watched that pro series from amsteel guy....does look a little better...
My drawing is actually wrong anyway, the video is right… I think this is the way I have mineIMG_4289.jpeg

played with that HFAS some more in the yard...its not terrible..loosening the hitch def helps..may run it in field,we'll see...anyways back to the post issue...my rubber piece seems to do ok but it slips around in the tape with pressure so need to wrap it a bit better.

I'm with you. I tried the daisy chain one season and had it slide down the tree because my boot hung the corner and lifted the platform causing slack in the line. I had to slowly lower myself till I could reach my stick. I went back to the cam buckle after that..

I applied barge cement to a 1” X 1” piece of super thick leather and to the bottom of the post. It did a great job silencing but only stayed adhered for a dozen uses before coming off. I found silencing mine was essential. The click it made when setting up was annoying and problematic but the worst of it for me was that without some kind of padding the level screw would dig into the post every time I shifted my weight and make a little ping sound.

I’d like to find some kind of a cap to put over the end of the leveling screw.

And for what’s it’s worth I tried attaching that platform to the tree with all kinds of different methods and the truckers hitch was the simple, fast and reliable. It’s by far my preference for that platform.

Anybody tried plastidip?

A friend bought a pack of those heavy felt, adhesive backed chair feet protectors and used one on his Predator. Not sure how it held up, but if it works for him, it will be my next step after the adhesive backed velcro wears out.

Wasn't there an old post on here about this where a lot of people were using a nylon cap or something? I'd be curious to see how that has lasted.
I'm just using a couple layers of stealthstrip and I replace it every year. I like the idea of the belt/heavy leather and some heat shrink though... I might try that too.
