Does the spliced eye on the tether rope seem a bit small? I’ve really had to finagle my ropeman and carabiner to get it through the eye of the rope.

Also, this is what the splice looks like after pushing the ropeman and carabiner through the eye one time. I assume this won’t get worse and result in a safety issue will it?

That's pretty small, I thought that they were suppose to be 5in spliced eyes. Is it possible you got a lineman's belt by mistake? the lineman's belt says it is a 2" spliced eye

Remove ropeman and carabiner from the rope, untying the stopper knot if needed. Push the tag end of the rope through the eye, then put your ropeman and biner back on, making sure you tie a stopper knot at the tag end of the rope.

I’m positive that’s the lineman’s belt.

Yeah, I obviously thought about that. But that would be pretty inconvenient to have to do that every single time I’m in a tree and then again when I am descending.

Good news is, I’m an idiot. I thought both of the ropes were identical and didn’t realize the other one has a 5 inch splice. Problem solved
