The “Missing Link” Pack ... “If Only...”

I'd like one that rolls up to fit your pocket, weighs about 2 pounds, carries 5 sticks and platform with all my rope gear, is as tough as 1000 cordura but as quiet as fleece and as stretchy as spandex. It should also be comfortable and retail for $39.95.

I recently found the alps pathfinder, which seems perfect. A fanny pack, which expands into a day pack, with meat hauling capabilities. Unfortunately, the pack is super light weight and while it has a shelf for meat hauling, it must be illadvised to haul 40+ pounds in a pack that weighs next to nothing.

Definitely going to give it a go. If its a bust, itll make a nice turkey pack.

I have a bunch of experience with “western” packs and found a huge void for an eastern hunter. My main issue is the lack of rigidity. The pack should pack the same empty or when full of gear. Real shoulder straps with load lifter and maybe a hip belt. Molle webbing and a pocket system that functions while hanging in a tree. A pack that separates from the frame to allow more storage. Not so much a meat shelf as there are plenty of packs with this options. Last, the pack does not need to weight a ton. Overall, the pack needs to pack a stand/platform and sticks while still be functional.
