I’m glad they are gettin in saddles! They inspired me to be more mobile after watching them last year. They didn’t introduce me to saddles but led me to seek out a lightweight option. Saddles seem so well suited to y’alls style of hunting at THP.

What general area of KY are y’all gonna hunt? If I’m near I’d love to help drag a deer out!

Several areas of public are being looked at as we speak! Mostly going to depend on weather. Aaron, Ted, and Jake will be on the KY tour; I’ll be behind a camera for whomever is hunting!

Awesome! Best of luck to them. I’m around Louisville but am from Western KY and have hunted a lot of public there. I’m sure those guys have their game plan figured out but if they wanna chat I’d be happy to lend any info. I’m jealous of your job! That will be a blast. Keep us updated

They are as approachable as can be and LOVE interacting! And the Work musically and on the side I get to do for them FUELS my real job - that most people don’t believe I do when I tell em!

That sounds like a ton of fun

They seem like normal guys that just plain work hard to get deer.

I’m tired of “Pro’s” that get deer thru spending 10s of thousands of dollars to lock up properties or don’t put in any of the sweat equity into scouting, hanging stands, etc.

A friend’s aunt had Realtree come buy out her farms & a group of neighboring farms for hunting lease rights for the yr because someone had a possible 200” monster on game camera. I think they gave $20k per farm.

They screwed over the normal leasees because of the additional $ offered above the usual lease prices. They hammered every farm all season & we’re trying to get the buck before the game cam owner could. Of course a 200” on camera would make their season & sell a lot of merchandise for them.

I guess if I was rich I would like that option if just spending $ for prime territory.

Maybe I’m just jealous

There’s always something that’ll screw up a lease AND public. Even my friends with private land still deal with poachers. I think that’s why I love THP as well as Dave Owens from Pinhoti Project. I learn to HUNT from them. As I tell folks, I hunt all year, I kill during season.

My buddy and I lost a lease he’s had since 1974 this past year - farmers kid’s girlfriends dad hunts (he’d been “secretly” hunting on us last year...).

We chalked it up to gratitude and a new opportunity. I’m in the long run which is to hang with guys and gals who have the same passion!! So much more fun to work for our food on OUR land.

Agree with everyone- I've never been a huge hunting TV guy, but I started following the THP guys when they were w/ MW, and havent missed a video since they started THP last Fall. They are so much more relateable to 95% of the folks that hunt, even if you do hunt mainly private. Between hearing that they were going to try saddles, and Mark from Wired to Hunt- I thought i would give it a try as well. I respect those guys onions a lot

I'll be new to saddle hunting this year. Someone on the BHOD Facebook group recommended Tethrd to me. I looked into Tethrd, watched Greg's videos and discovered this site. As I wandered through this site I discovered thehuntingbeast site and from there I discovered The Hunting Public. Maybe I'm just more in tune to saddle hunting now, or maybe its about to make an explosion, but either way I'm fired up about this coming season like I haven't been in years. I'm soaking in information left and right, have my Mantis and Predator ordered, have my WE Stepps in hand, new Kuiu pack coming tomorrow, reading Eberhart books....lets goooooo!!!! Its the saddle for me that is driving all that. I'm so excited to be traveling light and no longer being limited by having a big climber on my back.

Them fella's put on a great show. One of the most realistic shows out there. Excellent content and they seem to be having a great time doing it. It'll be interesting to see the first show they shoot one from the saddle. They even got some good road kill the other day! I'd be lyin' to you if if I told you we haven't carved off backstraps from some fresh hit deer too!

I'll have to add those guys to my rotation.

BTW - it's completely understandable to be jealous of those Realtree guys and the property they locked up. However, look at it from the farmer's perspective. They got a cash infusion they probably needed. The cycle will turn and those properties will be available again.

I am curious how guys would film if you had two guys in a saddle in the same tree? I guess you just set one guy way above the other, or get in a double trunk tree and have one guy in each. Probably not quite as easy as filming in hang on's, since you can essentially set them up right next to each other

I self filmed outta my saddle - had one doe kill on film when I was writing music for Midwest Whitetail but we couldn’t show it bx we were in with Muddy.

I think I’ll be filming Aaron and Jake out of an adjacent tree / we will keep u updated!!!

I hunt with my son when we are both in saddles and I filmed him. I was just higher than him. It worked really well and I didn't have to carry 2 tree stands. I am sure THP will figure it out once they get their saddles.
