Looking at the newer KUIU PRO pack for a day pack, anyone own it or have some feedback?
Appreciate thoughts or why you would or would not recommend.

I have the 1850 and the 6000. Big fan of both. Great layout for my style, very well made and durable.

I have the 1850 for whitetail and 5500LT for elk hunt. Did a hot week in CO this summer scouting. Carried camp the entire time. That thing rode great!

I just bought a Kuiu Venture 2300 off a guy here, and I love it so far. He was only selling because he liked the Pro better, which, to me, really says something about how awesome that pack is.

I have the old pro 5500 then upgraded to the new 6000. The padding on the hip belt and support is a lot better on the newer models. It rides better on the hips. I don’t know what’s your plans for the pack but I wouldn’t want to use a Pro model for deer hunting. That’s for carrying a load. The shoulder straps and waist belt would be too bulky for me to have hanging in a tree.
For deer hunting I have been using the same Kuiu venture 1800 for at least 3 years. It’s still in the same shape as when I bought it. The venture has an internal frame system which I think is a sheet of thin plastic along the back with some aluminum stays for support. It’s all hidden and sewn into the back panel so you can’t see it. It’s perfect for a deer pack. You can pack out a 100# deboned doe with it. A bigger deer you would need the venture 2500 or what ever size it it.

I just bought the Pro 3600 as I need to pack all my deer out every time, and I need to pack in my cold weather big boy bibs and parka. I’ll have a very similar set up though. 3 sticks with Amsteel aiders, Amsteel whoopie slings, and an XOP platform in pack.

That’s a big pack for a day pack. But it will carry a load well.

Yea I’m pumped, I know it’s big for day hunts, but I’m kind of stuck as I hunt out of a small car and need to totally bone out my deer in the field, and these big Ohio deer run every bit of 190-220 and I don’t hunt very close to the road often, so a two pack system would be a waste of time, but I did think about it, like running the 1800 every day and then buying an old frame pack to keep in the car to retrieve a deer. Idk, it just seemed like a lot of walking, especially in some of these Ohio and Kentucky hills. I hope it fits in the tree lol.

Exactly. My 6000 compresses down to almost nothing when empty with all the compression straps. I used it every day elk hunting as a day pack after I unloaded at spike camp. It just has a big padded belt that will be bulky hanging in a tree.
