it covers other great whitetail hunters of that great era....

And there is ole Noel Feather listed in that book, another blast from the past. Cheater too.

Here is a good summary of well known controversial hunters or cheaters. My radar went off on Spook Spann the first time I saw him on TV, can't say I wasn't happy when I first heard he got caught.

Having killed my fair share of deer the thing that strikes me the most about these photos is the lack of blood, no visible entry/exit wounds. I can't recall any that I've killed that ended up that clean. Maybe he does a good job getting them cleaned up for the pic...idk not saying anything more or less.
Yeah I found that very odd. Could be the broadheads he was using too, maybe the entry hole wasn’t that large? Also I’d like to add that I would find it super funny if he actually was a saddle hunter now and was on this website incognito.

Good points! Mine always seem to look like heck after dying from a broadhead.

Yeah Noel Feather was a cheater for sure too. I don't believe the rest were but what do I know.

Entry on the Rompola buck was right front shoulder. Pretty sure he says that in the walk up video.

God the hunting industry is filled with such great people and then I see the TV guys and can’t believe what scumbags some of them are.

I have been told the deer is real by someone who knows Mitch personally and is a far above average hunter himself.. I fully believe it's legit. Mitch is a weird guy, there's plenty of information about him out there. But he had/has tactics that would be considered extreme by even the most hardcore folks. I just think the scrutiny wasn't worth dealing with. Being a celebrity in any sense seems really stressful to me personally. I don't blame him for not wanting to deal with it.

So why claim it’s a world record and allow pictures to be posted on several magazines? He brought many times more scrutiny by making the claim and not allowing anyone to see the buck. I don’t have an opinion on the validity of the buck. Real, not real, doesn’t matter to me. I just don’t buy any argument that he wasn’t seeking attention.

Some people don't like attention, some don't like assholes. Seems like there was a flood of both...

Fake, IMO as well as most of the rest of his deer. I believe those racks are made of bondo and he replaced the skull caps. Hence the sagging ears, with blood in them. Also the racks look air brushed,

the “kill scene” looked too clean.. no blood, deer in layed out position..

Thanks for the link.

And real or unreal, you guys gotta get off the droopy ear thing. It’s almost embarrassing.

you can see the fletching , it blends in with the white of the tail area. looks like it was hit back in ribs and up into the far right shoulder, which is what he said happened.
You must have a better set of eyes than I do or a lot clearer screen.
