I'm relatively new to Minnesota, been here 2 years. I moved from Pennsylvania and grew up hunting grouse and woodcock with my father. He is looking to come out in the fall to do some bird hunting with his setters. Where would be a good place for us to begin looking at going. Grouse, woodcock, pheasants. He's talking about coming out for a week, trying to find a cabin to rent. Anybody have any good staring places or even a tip on a cabin to rent?

there are several pheasant farms in the state, you could try one of those. i grew up with one just a mile down the road, so there were tons of pheasant around there, but i know it can be hit or miss depending on what part of the state you are in as well

I’m looking to get into birds a little more this year, so no real first hand experience but, I would start with the grouse management areas that the dnr lists. Again I’ve never set foot on one, but I know they manage the habitat to support birds!
