To one stick or not

You know, you can use the base of that climber to get up the tree, if you want. I wish I had a base to try.
If it was smaller, I might be tempted. With my limited experience with it, I was really limited to how many trees I could climb. Where I was hunting, I was pretty much limited to red pines and poplars; everything else had too many branches to trim off. I was doing a city hunt and was limited on how much cutting I could do. The last time I took it out I couldn't keep traction on the trunk and took a slow, 15' slide down a sticky red pine I had prepped a few weeks previously.

Where are you located? I could probably be talked out of this climber I've got.

I’m in GA. We have lots of tulip poplars, sweetgums, oaks and climbable pines. Thanks for the offer, but I too would want something smaller. I’m gonna try an SRT along with my one sticking this coming season. I’m very comfortable with my one stick climbing, but still haven’t gon over branches via separate tether. I have been using my rappel rope as tether……the rest of the rope sits nice and tidy in a Beaston pouch til I’m ready to come down.
